Candied Orange Peel Recipe Oranges with Glazed Peel

INGREDIENTS :- Serves 8

  • 6 large navel oranges 11/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 cup Cointreau or Grand

Oranges with Caramel and Pecans Step by Step

Step 1 Remove the outer peel from one orange and cut the peel into very thin julienne strips.

Step 2 Barely cover with water and simmer for 10 minutes. Drain. Run cold water over the peel and drain again thoroughly.

Step 3 Place the sugar, water, and honey in a saucepan and heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves.

Step 4 Boil to 230°F. on a candy thermometer.

Step 5 Re­move from the heat; add the peel and stir gently.

Step 6 Let stand for about 30 minutes; then add the liqueur.

Step 7 Peel the remaining oranges. Cut each one into 3 or more slices.

Step 8 Spoon the syrup over the orange slices and top with the glazed peel.

Step 9 Chill be­fore serving.
