Texas Skillet Corn Bread Recipe
Texas Skillet Corn Bread Recipe If you don’t have a 10-inch cast-iron skillet, buy one to make this. It doesn’t taste the same made in anything else. This is the best corn bread recipe I have ever come across.

INGREDIENTS :- Serves 6
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1 scant teaspoon salt
- 2 heaping teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon whole wheat flour
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
Step 1 Mix the cornmeal, salt, baking powder, and flour.
Step 2 Add the buttermilk and egg; beat briefly.
Step 3 Put the oil into a 10-inch skillet and heat to very quickly pour the oil into the batter, and then pour the batter into the hot. (This method makes the cornbread very crusty.)
Step 4 Bake for 25 minutes. Turn out and serve.
