INGREDIENTS :- Serves Makes 8 biscuits

  • 1 cup unbleached all-purpose           
  • 2 heaping tablespoons flour  
  • vegetable shortening
  • IA  teaspoon salt        
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.

Step 1 Sift the flour, salt, and baking powder together in a bowl. Cut the shortening into the flour mixture. Add the milk gradually while forming the mixture into dough.

Step 2 The dough should hold together but not be sticky.

Step 3 Roll out the dough about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick on a floured surface.

Step 4 Cut into rounds, using a floured biscuit cutter.

Step 5 Place on a greased bak­ing sheet and bake on the middle rack of the oven for about 12 to 15 minutes, or until brown on top.

  • all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped chives

Step 1 Sift the dry ingredients together in a bowl.
