  • Friend: Au sa malumalumu tiko. (I am feeling weak/tired.)
  • You: E mosi na ulumu? (Does your head hurt?)
  • Friend: Sega, e mosi na ketequ. (No, my stomach hurts.)
  • You: Lako mada i vale me moce. (Go to the house and sleep.)

Teacher’s Note: Notice how we add “-qu” to the end of body parts to mean “my” (e.g., Uluqu = my head, Ligamu = your hand).

What’s Next?

Well done! In Lesson 12, we wrap up Module 4 by looking at The Fijian Home. We’ll learn about the different parts of the house and the very important “Tabu” (forbidden) rules of a Fijian home.

Ready to step inside the house, or do you need a break to rest your “ulu”?
